Construction Begins
Well I think I was rater excited at the progress that was told to me before we started, but now my bubble has officially been busted. To start, they people who delivered the metal bent a piece when they strapped it and I can't help but think it sticks out like sore thumb. not to mention the one day roof job is on its third day. I made plans with the contractor to take Friday off to see the shed, tree benches, and porch go up. Somewhere that was nixed and I was told only the roof this week. After a near fit, they decided that the roof and the shed would get done today. Did I mention that I promised to cook steaks if they get at least that done today? Anyhow they come this morning to finish the roof and the wrong size metal was sent, so only have one half of the roof covered. YAY! Then I notice what might be the wall and might be the floor frame to the shed....which appears small than discussed. They left for more nails and I ran out to measure it....and it is in fact two foot smaller than it was supposed to be. Called the contractor who first tells me I am wrong on the shed that he is replacing. After calling his guys who I was actually standing next to, they measured the old shed and the contractor decided that it was supposed to be bigger. Not trying to be petty, but two foot is two foot. OH, and the siding that is being replaced is not only a lighter color, but a completely different grain. So I am sitting here waiting on the siding, which won't be in until next week, and wondering whether it will be correct. And, still waiting on the right metal that was supposed to be here at noon to finish the roof today too. I had so many projects that I had in my head eager to start if this process went quick and smooth. Now, I am not so sure if I want to jump back into having to watch and check everything to make sure it is right. After all, isn't that what I am Paying for? Would love to hear any thoughts or shared experience.

First Time Blogger
Well, this is something that I have thought of starting but not gotten around to trying. I read somewhere that it is therapeutic to Blog. Who doesn't need a little free therapy with four kids? To start, a little about me....
At the age of 31, I am first and foremost the mother of four absolutely wonderful kids. I am a bookkeeper for a local oil company. I used to like my job, now not so much. I have a fairly wonderful boyfriend ;-) on the days that he agrees with what I say...just kidding.I graduated last summer after earning a degree in both Paralegal and Business Management. I come from a rather large family growing up but it seems that we have all grown apart. So now I am lucky to get Facebook messages or texts from my brother or sister, let alone the rest of the family. Which by the way, I am not very good at using Facebook. It may because I am trying to get acclimated on my Blackberry, but whatever the reason, I lost interest slightly. I bought my first home 3 years ago and getting my first taste at having to make repairs. After waiting what was originally supposed to be two weeks, then came five, and the possibility of another three weeks, I lost the already small amount of patience I had and switched contractors. Talked to him last Thursday, and he started putting down the basics today. I think I may have gotten a good one. Should probably let him finish the work first though so that I don't jinx myself. Anyhow, that is just a little rambling to get me going.
